Revelation 2:3-5
3You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. 4Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. 5Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
We all do it or have done it. We get so excited as new believers, but as life happens we forget about our real priority which should be in Jesus Christ.
Shame on us! It’s not God’s fault. He is not less amazing. He is not less omniscient. He is not less exciting. He is not less powerful. He is still God. He has never changed. We have changed. We have forgotten our first love. Yes we have done very good things in the past, we have “endured hardships” for Christ name, and not grown weary, but we have forgotten what it is really about. “Our life is but a vapor”, so we must live it to the fullest for Christ.
